Redmi Watch Move Review: My Honest First-Week Verdict (2026)

I bought the Redmi Watch Move in the Blue Blaze colour with my own money on Flipkart, and it was delivered on 9 October 2026. I had already picked this watch as the best overall choice in my guide to the best smartwatch under ₹3,000, so I wanted to see if it really holds up in daily use. This Redmi Watch Move review covers my first-week impressions of the design, display and battery, plus the official specs, how to connect it to your phone, and how it compares with the Redmi Watch 5 Active.

A quick note on how I tested: I paired the watch with my Android phone and have used it every day since it arrived. This is a first-impressions review, and I will add long-term notes on calling, outdoor visibility and sleep tracking in a future update.

Redmi Watch Move Review: Quick Verdict

After my first days with it, the Redmi Watch Move feels like a lot of watch for around ₹2,000. The 1.85-inch AMOLED screen looks sharp, the Blue Blaze finish looks more premium than the price suggests, and the battery has impressed me the most: I have not charged it even once since it arrived.

The main compromises are the lack of built-in GPS and a basic IP68 rating instead of a swim-proof 5 ATM rating. If you want a good-looking AMOLED smartwatch with long battery life on a tight budget, this is an easy recommendation.

Redmi Watch Move Price in India

Xiaomi launched the Redmi Watch Move in India on 21 April 2025 at ₹1,999, with sales on mi.com, Flipkart and Xiaomi retail stores. It was also Xiaomi India’s first locally made smartwatch.

The Redmi Watch Move price in India now changes from store to store. In October 2026, I saw it listed between roughly ₹1,500 and ₹2,500 across online stores, and festive sales and bank offers can bring it down further. I bought my Blue Blaze unit on Flipkart. What’s in the Box

  • Redmi Watch Move with the strap attached
  • Magnetic charging cable
  • User manual with warranty notice

There is no power adapter in the box. The cable has a USB Type-A plug, so it works with most regular phone chargers. If your charger only has a USB Type-C port, you will need a small adapter.

Design and Build Quality

Design is the first thing I noticed while testing for this Redmi Watch Move review. My unit is the Blue Blaze colour, and the blue runs from end to end: the frame has a glossy blue finish, and the soft TPU strap matches it. In person, it looks more premium than its price. The square 1.85-inch screen sits under 2.5D curved glass that blends smoothly into the frame.

On the right side is a rotating crown. Turning it scrolls through menus and lists, and pressing it takes you back to the watch face, which is easier than swiping on a small screen. A long press opens Xiaomi’s AI assistant.

The side opposite the crown has the speaker grille for Bluetooth calls. On the back, you get the heart rate and SpO2 sensor and two magnetic charging pins.

At 39g with the strap and 10.8mm thick, it is light enough for all-day wear. The strap uses a pin-and-tuck closure, so the extra length tucks neatly inside the band instead of flapping around.

Redmi Watch Move Strap and Screen Protector

The strap is quick-release, but the mechanism is made for this watch, so check that any replacement is listed specifically for the Redmi Watch Move. You can browse Redmi Watch Move straps on Amazon. The 2.5D curved glass can pick up scratches over time, so a model-specific Redmi Watch Move screen protector is a cheap way to keep it looking new.

Display

In this Redmi Watch Move review, the 1.85-inch AMOLED panel is the clear highlight. It has a 390 x 450 resolution at 322 ppi, and Xiaomi rates it at up to 600 nits of brightness. I am using a white chronograph-style watch face with a moon-phase dial, which you can see in my photos, and its fine markings and small sub-dials are easy to read.

Because it is AMOLED, blacks are truly black, and you also get an always-on display option. Keep in mind that turning on the always-on display reduces battery life a lot, which I cover in the next section. The Redmi Watch Move display size of 1.85 inches is big enough for notifications and workout stats, without making the watch feel bulky.

Battery Life and Charging

Battery life is the part of this Redmi Watch Move review that has impressed me the most. My watch arrived with 69% charge. I set it up, started using it every day, and still have not charged it. About four days later, it shows 44%.

That works out to roughly 6% a day. At that rate, a full charge would last a little over two weeks, which is in line with Xiaomi’s 14-day claim.

UsageClaimed battery life
Typical useUp to 14 days
Heavy useUp to 10 days
Always-on display enabledAbout 5 days
My first four days69% to 44%, about 6% per day, no charging
Typical and heavy use figures are Xiaomi’s claims. The always-on display figure was reported at launch.

Charging uses the magnetic cable that clips onto the back. Xiaomi says a full charge takes about 70 minutes and a 10-minute top-up gives up to two days of use. Since I have not needed to charge it yet, I will confirm the charging time in my long-term update.

Bluetooth Calling and Notifications

The Redmi Watch Move has a built-in speaker and microphone, so you can answer, reject and make calls from your wrist. You can add up to 10 favourite contacts through the Mi Fitness app, and the watch keeps a call history of up to 30 entries.

Remember that the watch has no SIM card. Calls go through your phone, so your phone must stay within Bluetooth range. Launch reviews found the small speaker works best in quieter places, which is normal for watches at this price. I will add my own call quality notes to this Redmi Watch Move review in the long-term update.

App notifications from your phone, such as WhatsApp messages, show up on the watch with a vibration. If you use an iPhone, note that launch reviews reported you cannot reply to notifications from the watch.

Health and Fitness Tracking

Health tracking is the area of this Redmi Watch Move review where I need more time, so here is what the watch offers on paper. It tracks heart rate, blood oxygen (SpO2), stress and sleep, including REM sleep, and it also has menstrual cycle tracking. There are more than 140 workout modes, and Xiaomi says it can automatically detect seven common activities, such as outdoor running, cycling and jump rope.

The biggest limitation is GPS. The Redmi Watch Move does not have built-in GPS, so for outdoor walks and runs it uses your phone’s GPS, which means you need to carry your phone. If you want a watch that tracks routes on its own, look at the Redmi Watch 5 Lite, which has built-in GPS, in my best smartwatch under ₹3,000 guide.

Like every budget smartwatch, it is not a medical device. Use the heart rate, SpO2 and stress readings as general trends, not for medical decisions.

How to Connect Redmi Watch Move to Your Phone

Setup is one of the most searched questions about this watch, so this Redmi Watch Move review includes the full steps. The watch works with the Mi Fitness app on both Android and iPhone:

  1. Install the Mi Fitness app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store, and sign in with your Xiaomi account.
  2. Turn on Bluetooth on your phone. On Android, allow the Bluetooth (nearby devices) and location permissions when the app asks.
  3. Turn on the watch and choose your language.
  4. In Mi Fitness, open the Device tab, tap Add device and select Redmi Watch Move.
  5. Follow the prompts on your phone and watch to confirm pairing, then allow notification and call permissions so alerts and Bluetooth calling work.
  6. Install any firmware update the app offers.

If pairing fails, remove the watch from your phone’s Bluetooth list, restart both devices and try again from the Mi Fitness app.

Redmi Watch Move vs Redmi Watch 5 Active

No Redmi Watch Move review is complete without this comparison. Redmi Watch Move vs Redmi Watch 5 Active is the matchup most buyers search for, because both sell at similar prices. I have not used the Redmi Watch 5 Active, so this comparison is based on official specifications.

Choose the Redmi Watch Move if display quality and looks matter most: AMOLED, always-on display and the rotating crown make it feel like a more premium watch. Choose the Redmi Watch 5 Active if you want the biggest screen, longer battery life and Alexa, and you do not mind an LCD panel.

Redmi Watch Move Review: Pros and Cons

What I Like

  • Sharp 1.85-inch AMOLED display with always-on option
  • Excellent battery: only 25% used in my first four days, no charging needed
  • Premium-looking design, especially in Blue Blaze
  • Useful rotating crown for scrolling
  • Light at 39g with the strap
  • Bluetooth calling with speaker and microphone
  • Smooth HyperOS software and IP68 protection

What Could Be Better

  • No built-in GPS, so you need your phone for outdoor route tracking
  • IP68 only, not rated for swimming
  • Proprietary magnetic charger, so you cannot use any other cable
  • Strap mechanism is model-specific, so third-party strap choices are limited
  • No notification replies when paired with an iPhone

Who Should Buy the Redmi Watch Move (and Who Should Skip)

Based on my first week for this Redmi Watch Move review, here is who the watch suits and who should look elsewhere.

Buy It If

  • You want your first smartwatch with an AMOLED display on a budget of around ₹2,000
  • You hate charging your watch every few days
  • You want call alerts, notifications and basic fitness tracking in a good-looking watch
  • You are buying a gift and want something that looks more expensive than it is

Skip It If

  • You run or cycle outdoors without your phone and need built-in GPS
  • You want to wear your watch while swimming
  • You want the biggest possible screen or Alexa, where the Redmi Watch 5 Active fits better

Buying Online? Keep Your Invoice Safe

I bought my watch online, and if you do the same, save the invoice the day your order arrives. Smartwatch warranty claims in India go through the brand’s service network, and without the invoice the process gets much harder. Read my guides on how earbuds and smartwatch warranty really works in India and how to claim warranty for online purchases in India before you need them.

What I Will Test Next

This Redmi Watch Move review is based on my first week. Over the coming weeks, I will update it with:

  • A full battery cycle from 100% and the real charging time
  • Bluetooth call quality indoors and outdoors
  • Screen visibility in harsh afternoon sunlight
  • Sleep tracking and long-term strap comfort

Final Verdict: Is the Redmi Watch Move Worth Buying?

To wrap up this Redmi Watch Move review: yes, it is worth buying if you want a stylish AMOLED smartwatch with long battery life for around ₹2,000. In my first week, the design, display and battery have all impressed me, and losing only 25% battery in four days without charging is better than I expected.

Just be clear about what it is not: it has no built-in GPS and is not made for swimming. If those two do not matter to you, the Redmi Watch Move is one of the best value smartwatches you can buy in India right now.
